Opened in 1968, Hillcrest is a full-service, 424-bed hospital that serves the medical needs of Mayfield Heights and the surrounding communities, including Lake and Geauga counties. A four-story tower opened last summer adding 103 of these beds, as well as two new Operating Rooms, expanded Cancer Center services and an Endovascular Suite for minimally-invasive vascular procedures. The hospital offers comprehensive cardiovascular services under the direction of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation’s Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, catheterization labs, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes education and vascular services. Hillcrest Hospital’s William B. Hirsch Cancer Center offers a full range of care, featuring Cleveland Clinic radiation oncologists and gynecological cancer services. The Cancer Center also participates in many national clinical trials. Other services include state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient surgery; pain management and digestive health. Hillcrest delivers more babies than any other east side community hospital. Babies with special needs are cared for in the Level II special care nursery. The hospital also features a pediatric emergency unit, inpatient pediatrics and Cleveland Clinic pediatric surgeons (on call 24 hours a day). Hillcrest has been named nine times as one of the nation’s 100 top hospitals in the consumer choice survey conducted by Solucient, a leading provider of information to the health care industry.

Questions or Concerns?

You and your family should feel you can always voice your concerns. If you share a concern or complaint, your care will not be affected in any way. The first step is to discuss your concerns with your doctor, nurse, or other caregiver. If you have concerns that are not resolved, please contact the Ombudsman office at 440/312-9140. Should you continue to remain concerned after contacting the Ombudsman office, you may contact the Joint Commission’s Office of Quality Monitoring by either calling 1/800-994-6610 or e-mailing complaint@jcaho.org.

Quality is the most important differentiating factor when a physician or patient chooses a hospital for care. An outcomes book was created so that patients, referring physicians and organizations could view our hospital outcomes.
