Coping with the illness of a child is difficult for the child and family. The Hillcrest Hospital Pediatric Unit can help you through this trying time. Our comprehensive, quality pediatric healthcare services are conveniently located in your community, bringing quality care close to home.
Who Will Care for My Child?
Your child's primary care physician will coordinate the care of your child while hospitalized. Pediatricians and/or board-certified pediatric nurse practitioners are available in house, 24 hours a day for immediate care.
Experienced pediatric registered nurses provide round-the-clock care to patients, age birth to 18 years, with diagnoses such as asthma, respiratory infections, gastroenteritis with dehydration, pneumonia, fractures and other commom childhood illnesses. Children are also admitted for observation and recovery following surgery.

• Inpatient management for acute illnesses
• Respiratory treatments
• IV fluids and antibiotics
• Cardio respiratory monitoring
• Phototherapy
• Outpatient and short-stay treatments for lab work, surgery and

Special Features
Along with state-of-the-art technology and the highest level of medical and nursing care, the Pediatric Unit also provides amenities that children enjoy such as:
• Movies, toys, books and games
• TV/DVDs in every patient room
• In-room, overnight boarding for one parent, including a complimentary meal
Visiting Hours
In addition to overnight boarding for one parent, parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s care as much as possible and are welcome to visit at any time.
Grandparents, siblings and other visitors are welcome during regular visiting hours of 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
