Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy

 
Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy is designed to help individuals and their families increase their knowledge of nutrition basics and provide a personalized plan toward weight control, disease prevention and overall better health.

 

Our staff of registered dietitians is licensed in the State of Ohio (L.D.) and are qualified by education, experience, examination and continuing education to meet the professional standards established by the American Dietetic Association (A.D.A.). Through individual counseling sessions, the dietitian helps individuals lead a healthier lifestyle by providing education and personalized nutritional advice.

 

Counseling Session

Individual session may include the following:

  • Basic Nutrition Education
  • Individualized Meal Planning
  • Heart Healthy Eating Guidelines
  • Label Reading, Cooking and Dining Out Guidelines
  • Pregnancy and Lactation

Special therapeutic diet modification for : cardiac disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, weight management, hypertension, osteoporosis and diabetes.

 

First Visit - What To Bring?

To make the most of your initial visit, it is a good idea to bring along information for the dietitian to review.

  • The consult/referral form from your doctor's office.
  • Recent medical test and lab results, such as your cholesterol and triglycerides.
  • A list of all medications and supplements you take, along with doses.
  • Any diet information you have received in the past or are currently following.
  • A food journal listing of everything you ate or drank during the past three to seven days. **Be sure to include serving sizes and how the food was prepared.
  • Food labels or products you have questions about.
  • A list of question you want answered.
  • Consider bringing along a family member or support person.
