Hillcrest offers comprehensive cardiovascular services including cardiothoracic surgery under the direction of Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
The hospital is certified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma; a certified Chest Pain Center and a certified Stroke Center.
The Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Hillcrest Hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the Commission on Cancer, an affiliate of the American College of Surgeons. Services also include state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient surgery; imaging; orthopedics, neurology and neurosurgery; pain management and digestive health.
Hillcrest delivers more babies than any other east side community hospital, and babies with special needs are cared for in the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The hospital also features a Pediatric Emergency Department.
In Fall 2010, the hospital completed a $163 million expansion and renovation project that included state-of-the-art facilities with major infrastructure and technology improvements. During the expansion, a new bed tower with 72 private rooms was built, new surgical suites were added, the Emergency Department capacity was doubled, and a new neonatal intensive care unit was built. Plans for 2011 include renovation of the labor and delivery and postpartum areas.
